The IRC Internship Program offers undergraduate students the
opportunity to
work on professional projects under the direction of IRC directors,
faculty
researchers and artists. These students receive invaluable experience
with
new digital technologies, but more importantly, they learn how to
collaborate with other researchers to create large-scale and
high-profile
work.
Undergraduate students can apply for an internship at the beginning of
each
semester. The number of internships available and the skill sets
required
vary each semester based on current IRC projects.
Typically,
interns are junior or senior students with skills in 3D modeling,
animation,
programming, and digital media. Accepted interns work in the IRC
during
normal office hours. A 3 credit internship requires 120 hours of work.
This
is usually broken down into 8 hours a week over a 15 week semester.
