K-12 Student and Parent IRC Tours

Many K-12 students, including the Commodore John Rodgers Elementary/Middle School college access cohort, are welcomed at the Imaging Research Center during their many tours of UMBC on November 14, 2025, February 20, 2026, and other dates.

During their visit of UMBC, students get an immersive look into campus life and creative technology. As part of their exploration of university pathways, students and parents are given a tour of the Imaging Research Center (IRC), where they learn about the center’s innovative projects and the role it plays in supporting research and creative work across campus. The experience offers students a firsthand look at the tools and environments used by artists, designers, and technologists. The visits also include opportunities for conversation with IRC community members, giving students insight into academic pathways, creative careers, and the day‑to‑day experience of working in a university research center.
