Overview
The workshop goals require that we work together, across disciplines to develop climate communication strategies likely to promote beliefs, attitudes, intentions, and behaviors that can hasten our efforts to curb climate change. To accomplish this we have mostly divided the agenda into three parts:
- Hearing from experts in each of the major research domains (discussed on this page) to help orient us to the major issues and principles in those domains, and share some of their own research. This will inform participants with information needed for the second part:
- Working in manageable groups of perhaps 5 or 6 people, representing a wide and complementary range of disciplines, to develop a viable plan communication plan.
- Developing a Google Site (web site) that represents the plan in the best way possible.
This is an ambitious, but we hope exciting, program to invent innovative and effective strategies for curbing climate change. For those who arrive early and wish to attend, dinner will be offered on Monday night at 6pm. (This may change depending on information gathered between now and then.) Tuesday and Thursday evenings transportation to a nearby areas for dinner will be offered. Wednesday evening we will remain on campus for dinner and some innovative media presentations.
Some parts of this program are still being tweaked, but basically, this is the program in chart form:
