Some instructions for constructing pages. Because it’s always best to “acquire higher”, images for the site should always be either 1920×1080 or 1080×1080 to have full and half-width images even though they will then be scaled to 1170×658 or 585×585 respectively. Bring in the larger size images and them when placing them in the page, click on the image, then the pencil in the little context menu, then choose and type in custom sizes as 1170×658 or 585×585. For different aspect ratio images, the same rules remain. Bring them in higher resolution than they need to be (with 1920 being the largest dimension) then remember that 1170=full width, 585 is half, helpful also for a 2-column spread, etc.

Use the edit gadget that appears in the visual editor when you hover over the top of an image to set the size and also select how or whether you want text to wrap.

Here is a 1080×1080 image at 1/3 width (390) helpful also for a 3-column spread:

Translational Research Enterprise (TRIMEC)… The project will establish a center at UMBC for education, research, and enterprise development where research in all domains is translated into cultural, economic, and policy impact. At the center, faculty and students from STEM and other domains will work together with center staff on the research and development of innovative visualization, storytelling, and experiences to increase the engagement of a range of audiences with new data, information, and knowledge produced by investigators at UMBC and beyond. To serve the rapidly growing market for education technology and contemporary content development (EdTech) market, the center will feature programming and resources to germinate startups. The work of the center will be supported by educational programming teaching visualization and storytelling that leverages new media and visualization technologies and design thinking.
